PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten cycle-times required for inspecting electronic components, and to enhance accuracy of inspection. SOLUTION: In an electronic component mounting apparatus 100, a control section 14 takes an image of a substrate B before mounting electronic components P thereon and calculates reference mounting positions of the electronic components P with respect to a reference position of a substrate retaining section 3. Then, the control section 14 memorizes the calculated reference mounting positions of the electronic components P with respect to the reference position of the substrate retaining section 3 in a memory section 14d.
