<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a communication range by simply calibrating a communication distance of an IC tag and obtaining matching between a field environment and the communication range. <P>SOLUTION: The output strength of a reader/writer 1 is previously minimized, and the minimum operation power Rts of an IC tag 3 obtained when a distance between the reader/writer 1 and the IC tag 3 is set a maximum communication distance and reference receiving power Rrws which is receiving power of a response wave received from the IC tag 3 to the reader/writer 1 are previously measured. Then, the output strength Prw of the reader/writer 1 and antenna gain Gant are applied to an equation (4) to calculate an estimated maximum communication distance D'max in the output strength Prw. Further, the receiving power Rrw and the reference receiving power Rrws are applied to an equation (5) to calculate a corrected distance d.
