PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidification device and an air cleaner, which prevent mixing of water drops into the air supplied from an air supply opening, and prevent the occurrence of failure due to the mixing of water drops. SOLUTION: In this humidification device in which a lower section of a disc-shaped holding frame 30 receiving and holding a humidification filter 31 is dipped in a water tank 6, and the air is passed through a humidification filter 31 including the stored water in the water tank 6, to produce the wet air including vaporizing moisture and supplying the same, a power transmission ring 32 constituted as a ring gear having a diameter smaller than the holding frame 30 is disposed on one face of the holding frame 30 on an inlet side of the air, a power transmission gear 51 of a driving unit 5 is engaged with the power transmission ring 32, rotary driving force of the driving unit 5 is transmitted to the holding frame 30 through the power transmission gear 51 and the power transmission ring 32, and the holding frame 30 and the humidification filter 31 are rotated so that the water attached to the outer periphery of the power transmission ring 32 and scattering through action of airflow, is absorbed by the humidification filter 31 through the inside of the holding frame 30.
