PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly perform control based on the weight of a load. SOLUTION: This mechanical parking system includes a swing device 3 which is provided on a riding floor for loading/unloading a vehicle and which swings the vehicle-placed pallet, and a control unit 21 which controls the ascent/descent of a lift carrier machine on the basis of the weight of the pallet and the vehicle placed on the pallet. The swing device 3 includes a lifting and lowering motor 31 which lifts the vehicle-placed pallet by a predetermined amount from a prescribed reference position before the vehicle-placed pallet is swung in the direction of being housed on a storage shelf, in the loading of the vehicle, and a weight estimation portion 32 which estimates the weight of the pallet and the vehicle placed on the pallet, on the basis of an electric current flowing through the lifting and lowering motor 31 when the lifting and lowering motor 31 is lifted by a predetermined amount.
