PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a device suitable for miniaturization and compacting by contriving on drive control of a movable lens that constitutes an imaging optical system. SOLUTION: In a constitution where the movable lens is urged along the optical axis direction, thrust is generated in a direction of resisting the urging force of moving the movable lens to a first position X1 and a second position X2 along the optical axis direction. Then, a lens drive control system comprises a control means for drive controlling, without needing position detection of the movable lens. In accordance with a first signal waveform W1, a drive signal level, corresponding to a focusing position, is stored by detecting a focusing state during moving the movable lens while moving the movable lens from the first position X1 to the second position X2. After the movable lens is returned to the first position X1 or a third position X3 between the first position and the second position in accordance with a subsequent second signal waveform W2, the movable lens is moved to the focusing position, in accordance with a third signal waveform W3.
