<p>A system is provided for detecting and disorienting an intruder in a predetermined area 9. The system comprises a plurality of nodes 1-5, at least one node incorporating a strobe light, and at least one node incorporating an intruder detection sensor. The system is configured to flash the strobe light(s) upon detection of an intruder by the detection sensor in order to deter / disorient the intruder. The nodes may be portable and battery powered, and may incorporate a means for wirelessly communicating with each other. The communication between nodes may allow strobe lights to be flashed in a coordinated pattern. The system may include a remote control unit 6 for selective deactivation of all or part of the system. A control and display unit 7 in communication with the nodes may be provided to determine the spatial location of the nodes and provide a user with information regarding missing areas of coverage of the system.</p> |
