The method involves forming a metal ribbon (3) around multiple flat strips (1) of a mount which is coated with a superconducting ceramic material, running longitudinally to form a tube (9) having slots and whose edges which rest on one another on the slot. The diameter of tube which is closed by the welding process is reduced to a diameter that corresponds approximately to envelopes of all the strips that are located in the tube.
