THE REACTION MOTOR WITH OUTER ROTOR

A design for the reaction motor with outer rotor is proposed. The motor contains stator (1), which is placed in the space of tooth-like rotor (2). In the proposed modification, in the twelve stator slots three-phase distributed winding (3) with a shortened pitch is laid. Stator (1) is separated from rotor (2) by air gap (4). Four teeth (5-8) of stator (1) are combined pairwise into two poles, top and bottom ones. In each pole the teeth are separated by nonmagnetic gap (9,10) connected with air gap (4) by narrow slot (11, 12). On the outside tooth-like rotor (2) is protected by nonmagnetic housing (13). At casting the housing, the gaps (9,10) between teeth (5,6; 7,8) are filled with the same alloy, which provides the necessary stiffness and reliability of the motor rotor.The motor works as follows. When voltage is applied to the stator winding, a rotating magnetic field arises, whose longitudinal and transversal components in the interaction with currents in the stator winding create a torque. Owing to a significant reduction in the transversal component of the magnetic field, the specific torque in the proposed design considerably increases. The simplicity of the design ensures high reliability of the motor. The distributed winding with a shortened pitch as well as the pole overlapping coefficient in the range 0,65-0,7 and bevelling of stator slots reduce the vibration level of the electric machine.
