PURPOSE: An LED(Light Emitting Diode) and a backlight unit using the same are provided to reduce manufacturing costs by minimizing the number of LED packages. CONSTITUTION: An LED of a backlight unit comprises a first and a second light sources which emit different lights and separately turned on or off. The first light source comprises a first LED, a first light source receiving unit including a first receiving groove, a first fluorescent substance which is placed in the first receiving groove, and a first lead frame which supplies a first driving power to the first light source. |
