The casement i.e. front lateral door (1), has a rear edge (12) equipped with a hinge forming unit for interacting with a structure (3) of a motor vehicle for mounting and articulation of the casement on the structure. The hinge forming unit is mounted to move between a folded position in which a rotation axis is closer to the structure and a deployed position in which the rotation axis is far away from the structure. The hinge forming unit comprises an arm with ends, where the casement is mounted for rotating around the rotation axis at the level of one of the ends of the arm. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle comprising a lateral opening defined by a front vertical post.
