<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL device which can be used as a window glass, and can generate and charge power as a stand-alone device. <P>SOLUTION: The organic EL device 1 includes a glass substrate 2, a transparent organic EL layer 3, a transparent solar cell layer 4, an electric storage device 5, a diode 52, and a switch 54. The transparent organic EL layer 3 is arranged on one surface of the glass substrate 2, and the transparent solar cell layer 4 is arranged on the other surface of the glass substrate 2. The transparent organic EL layer 3 and transparent solar cell layer 4 are connected respectively to the electric storage device 5. The diode 52 is arranged on a connecting wire 51 of the electric storage device 5 and the solar cell layer 4 so that a current flows only from the solar cell layer 4 to the electric storage device 5.
