PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight of a precast girder so that the girder can be installed by a truck crane. SOLUTION: In this method of constructing a girder, girder lower part structural members K1, K2 which constitute a part of a girder to be installed are manufactured by depositing beforehand, the precast girder lower part structural members K1, K2 are installed between the bridge piers by a truck crane, and these girder lower part structural members K1, K2 are connected to each other, reinforcements and forms for constructing the upper portion of the girder are arranged, and concrete is deposited. Each of the precast girder lower part structural members K1, K2 used for this method includes lower flange parts 11 generally horizontally extending at both side lower ends of the precast girder lower part structural member, and fixed projections 19, 19 with sheathes 20 for PC steel member which further generally horizontally extend at one or both side ends of the precast girder lower part structural member. Joint reinforcements 18 for girder connection are provided to one or both end surfaces of the precast girder lower part structural member.
