PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pretreatment method for easily detecting a gene without using particular device and apparatus. SOLUTION: The specimen pretreatment for detecting a gene in a biospecimen comprises (A) a cell breaking step to break a cell in the specimen and (B) a protein removing step to remove proteins in the specimen.
