METHOD, SYSTEM AND APPARATUS FOR MEDIA CONTROL IN IP MULTIMEDIA SUBSYSTEM

The present invention discloses a method, system and an apparatus for media control in IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). The method includes the following steps: a Media Control Function (MCF) or a media control and resolution entity assigned in an IMS system receives a Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) message which is sent from a user terminal for a requested media service and used for controlling the media service, and then maps the SIP message to a corresponding Real-Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) command based on the corresponding relationship between the SIP message and RTSP command or resolves the RTSP command from the SIP message; then, the mapped or resolved RTSP command is sent to a Media Delivery Function (MDF) entity; the MCF receives the SIP message sent from the user terminal, then sends it to the media control and resolution entity; based on the received RTSP command, the MDF controls the media service requested by the user terminal. By using the present invention, the media interaction control between the user terminal and the network side can be supported without destroying the integrity of the RTSP protocol.
