<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape driving device that prevents a magnetic head and magnetic tape from being damaged when the magnetic tape enters a transfer state from a stop state, and vice versa, or is reversed. <P>SOLUTION: At the start of transferring a magnetic tape 6, when one of the magnetic head 1 and the magnetic tape 6 is moved and the other is static (static friction may be generated) in stopping the magnetic tape 6 from a transfer state and reversing the transfer direction thereof, a head displacement section 7 vibrates the magnetic head 1 under the control of a displacement control unit 14. No static friction is generated between the magnetic head 1 and the magnetic tape 6, thereby preventing the magnetic heads 1 (an MR head unit incorporating an MR element or the like) or the magnetic tape 6 from being damaged. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
