PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accurate coil which can restrain an eddy current from being caused in a gradient magnetic field coil in a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: The gradient magnetic field coil for the magnetic resonance imaging apparatus has a first coil conductor causing a first gradient magnetic field in the direction of three axes at right angles to each other and a second coil conductor causing a second gradient magnetic field acting to negate the first gradient magnetic field outside the first coil conductor, wherein the first coil conductor or the second coil conductor is asymmetrically arranged with respect to any one or more of three-dimensional Cartesian coordinate axes.
