PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binding sewing machine for stably performing a cloth cutting operation while evading or reducing the damage of a cloth and the decline of sewing quality. SOLUTION: The binding sewing machine includes a needle vertically moving mechanism whose driving source is a sewing machine motor, a cloth feeding mechanism whose driving source is a feed motor, a knife mechanism for vertically moving a center knife by a knife motor relative to a fixed knife and forming a straight cut, an operation control means for controlling the knife motor according the vertical movement frequency of the center knife determined corresponding to the carrying speed of an object to be sewn, and a detection means for detecting the operation speed of the knife motor. When the operation speed detected by the detection means has declined by a stipulated value or more relative to the command value of the knife motor, the operation control means executes the control of decelerating the sewing machine motor and the feed motor.
