<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detector which can accurately determine whether a standstill object that is detected by a radar which does not satisfy a specified level in resolution, in a vertical direction, is an obstacle for traveling of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The object detector includes a radar 10; a standstill object detector 20, that detects an object that exists in front of own vehicle and of which absolute speed is less than a specified value, as a standstill object by a radar 10; a moving object detector 30, that detects an object that exists in front of own vehicle and of which absolute speed is more than a specified value, as a moving object; a setting section 40 for setting a predetermined search range at the periphery of the detection position of the standstill object such that it is set to presume that the moving object existing in the range is impossible to avoid colliding with the standstill object or that the moving object has already collided the standstill object; and a determination section 50 for determining that the detected standstill object is determined as being a non-obstacle that is not an obstacle for travelling of own vehicle, when there is any detection result among the detection result concerning the moving object that the detection position is within the range of search. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
