PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication system which is convenient for a system operator and an onboard device user. SOLUTION: The wireless communication system includes a module for decrypting encrypted card information on a roadside device 30 for registration and a roadside device 40 for toll collection instead of being provided with the module on a onboard device. In this manner, the wireless communication system can accommodate an IC card that uses a new encryption method more easily relative to a conventional wireless communication system only by adding the module to the roadside device 30 and the roadside device 40 (because the roadside devices are generally smaller in number in comparison to the onboard devices in the operation of the system, and lesser in demand for space efficiency and cost reduction).
