PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic analyzer capable of securing easily proper dispensation accuracy, reducing a sample dummy, and preventing complication of sucking/discharging operation of a sample. SOLUTION: This automatic analyzer includes: a first container storing dilution water or cleaning water; a second container storing a sample; a reaction container; and a probe for sucking the dilution water or the cleaning water from the first container, and further sucking the sample from the second container after sucking the air, and dispensing the sucked sample into the reaction container. The automatic analyzer for preparing reaction solution by dispensing the sample and a reagent into the reaction container by the probe, and measuring a component amount in the reaction solution, also has a third container storing a nonaqueous solvent, and a driving control part for controlling the probe so as to suck the nonaqueous solvent from the third container by the probe before sucking the sample from the second container after sucking the air.
