PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for supplying a material for a seedling, which is capable of accurately supplying a material to the root of a seedling regardless of the height of the seedling. SOLUTION: The transplanting unit (the material-feeding mechanism for the seedling) 30 includes a seedling-carrying platform 31 for moving the carried seedlings S downward, and a chemical-feeder (a material feeder) 70 for feeding the required chemical (the material) P to the root of the moving seedling S in order. A grass-dividing plate (grass-dividing unit) 60 is constituted of a flat plate in the transplanting unit 30 equipped with the grass-dividing plate 60 for bending the seedling S and opening the vicinity of the root of the seedling S by being applied to the upper part of the moving seedling S when feeding the chemical P.
