<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating a blast furnace, which solves the problem occurring when using pulverized coal as an auxiliary reduction material in an operation of the blast furnace, and can contribute to the reduction of the amount of CO<SB>2</SB>emission by using biomass in place of the pulverized coal. <P>SOLUTION: The method for operating the blast furnace includes producing a pulverized product by pulverizing a biomass charcoal 3 which is obtained by dry-distilling biomass 1 in a dry distillation apparatus 2 and blowing the pulverized product of the biomass charcoal and the pulverized coal 4 from a tuyere, in the operation of the blast furnace, which blows the pulverized coal from the tuyere as an auxiliary reduction material. It is preferable to mix the pulverized product of the biomass charcoal with the pulverized coal in a mixing apparatus 5 and blow the mixture from the tuyere, and to blow the mixture so that a total volatile concentration of the pulverized product of the biomass charcoal and the pulverized coal becomes 10 mass% or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
