PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the further simplification of a holding device compared with a prior art. SOLUTION: A holding device includes a base 2, a slider 4, and a biasing member S1 so as to freely detachably hold an article K. The base 2 has a fixed holding part 22 provided at one-end side of an arrangement part 21, and an operation button 5 supported via a pivot 3 so as to be oscillated. The slider 4 has a movable holding part 41 for holding the article K between the fixed holding part 22 and itself, and a teeth 45 formed along a sliding direction. The operation button 5 has an operation part 51 at a one-end side across the pivot 3 and a claw 53 provided at the other end side so as to be engaged with and disengaged from the teeth of the slider. The operation button is normally biased by a biasing spring S3 so as to regulate the slide of the slider in a state that the claw 53 is engaged with the teeth 45. The operation button releases the engagement by operation against the biasing force of the operation part 51 so as to allow the slider to be slidable against the biasing force of the biasing member S1.
