PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce redundancy of data between disk nodes in a multi-node storage system. SOLUTION: When a data unit wherein a deduplication grace period or above lapses from final writing time is detected by deduplication data unit detection means 1d, 3d of the disk nodes 1, 3, a deduplication address associated to a characteristic value of data inside a unit storage area 5a allocated to a deduplication data unit is obtained from an index server 4 by deduplication address acquisition means 1e, 3e. Then, the obtained deduplication address is stored in a data unit information storage means 3c associatively to the detected data unit by unit storage area allocation release means 1f, 3f.
