Disclosed is a transmission which comprises: a first transmission group which can transmit power from a motor and/or an engine to driven wheels and has multi transmission stages different in transmission ratio; and a second transmission group which can transmit power from the engine to the driven wheels. When the temperature of a battery detected by a temperature sensor is less than a first predetermined temperature or is greater than or equal to a second predetermined temperature, an ECU sets the transmission stage of the first transmission group at a middle stage, and implements control so as to run at a middle stage of the second transmission group which neighbors the middle stage of the first transmission group.
