PURPOSE: A transparent display device and an electronic apparatus having the same are provided to improve light transmittance by removing a light polarizing plate in a transparent mode and placing the light polarizing plate in a display mode. CONSTITUTION: A transparent display device(1) comprises a gate electrode formed on a transparent insulation plate, a liquid crystal panel(16) formed on an insulation layer including the gate electrode, a light source placed on a lower part of the liquid crystal panel, a first light polarizing plate(12) which polarizes light from a light source, and a light guide plate(14) placed on the lower part of the liquid crystal panel. The light guide plate projects the polarized light to the liquid crystal panel and penetrates natural light from the lower part.
