<p>The device (1) has a bag forming device (4) with a seam-producing device (5) for producing a bottom seam (6) and a cutting device (7) for cutting a predetermined bag length. A bag opening device (9) is arranged for opening an open-mouth bag (10), and a valve inserting device (11) is arranged for inserting a valve into a bag wall. The valve inserting device is movably arranged so as to enter into the bag that is opened by the bag opening device, in order to insert the valve into the bag wall.
