Antibacterial oral and tooth care and cleaning agents with silver

Oral- and dental care- and -cleaning agent (I) comprises 0.1-100 ppm of silver ions, and 0.001-5 wt.% of at least an antibacterial compound. Independent claims are included for a method for preventing and treating caries, combating halitosis and/or for treating gingivitis or periodontitis comprising either applying (I) on a toothbrush and brushing the teeth with the toothbrush, or introducing (I) in the form of a mouthwash in the oral cavity and leaving for a period of at least 10 (preferably at least 45) seconds. ACTIVITY : Antibacterial; Antiinflammatory. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
