摘要 <p>Disclosed is an optical pickup device that either reduces or eliminates the effect of light reflections from other recording layers when recording or retrieving information on one recording layer of an optical disc comprising three recording layers, allowing the obtainment of more stability in either RF signals or focusing error signals. The optical pickup device comprises a light source, a collimator lens, an objective lens, a light sensor, and a light blocking member. When a first layer and a second layer, adjacent to one another, from among the recording layers of the optical disc, are positioned in order by increasing distance from the objective lens, the light blocking member is positioned at a location that satisfies the condition "d &gt; d1" and blocks a portion of the light that is reflected from the second layer, wherein "d" is the length of the optical path from the light sensor to the light blocking member when light is collected upon the first layer and "d1" is the distance from the light sensor to the location whereat the light that is reflected from the second layer is focused between the collimator lens and the light sensor.</p>
