The device (1) has a cooling circuit comprising an air inlet orifice (11) for introducing air (2) upstream (CD) of a traction battery (3), and an air outlet orifice (12) for discharging the air downstream (EF) of the battery. The cooling circuit defines an air passage passing via the traction battery. A ventilation unit (13) e.g. electric fan, generates an air flow in the cooling circuit from the inlet orifice towards the outlet orifice. The cooling circuit is sealed with respect to a cab interior (5) of a motor vehicle. The outlet orifice is opened outside the cab interior.
