The present invention relates to porous metallic framework materials comprising at least one at least bidentate organic compound coordinatively bound to at least one metal ion, said at least one at least bidentate organic compound deriving from 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid or 2,5-thiophene­dicarboxylic acid. The present invention further relates to shaped bodies comprising them, to processes for production thereof and to the use thereof, especially for storage and removal of gases.
