<p>Disclosed is an optical reception device (10), comprising an electrical signal conversion unit (110) that converts an inputted optical signal that is a polarization multiplex signal to an electrical signal of each respective polarization component thereof, a signal processing unit (120) that executes a digital signal process upon a digital signal that is generated by executing A/D conversion processing, and a phase difference output unit (130) that detects the phase difference that arises between the respective polarization components of the optical signal on the basis of the signal whereupon the digital signal processing is carried out and outputs information denoting the phase difference thereof. The signal processing unit (120) compensates for the distortion of the optical signal on the basis of the information that denotes the phase difference. Signal processing is executed at the optimal identification phase for the respective polarization components of the received polarization multiplex signal, and degradation in precision in reception is avoided, even in the presence of rapidly fluctuating PMD.</p> |
