<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conduit achieving high heat loss ratio without compromising about the transverse heat flow homogeneity of molten glass passing the conduit. <P>SOLUTION: The conduit (13) of an elliptical shape for adjusting the molten glass to a suitable status is provided. A wall (23) of the conduit can have a noble metal tab (29) for supporting the upper surface (25) of the wall, and consists of a noble metal such as platinum-rhodium alloy, for example, in order to reduce sagging of the surface when the conduit becomes high temperature and is also not filled with glass. The noble metal tab (29) is accepted in a channel (31) formed in a heat-resistant supporting structure (27).
