PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a colored and stretched thermoplastic polyester resin film. SOLUTION: The method for producing the colored and stretched thermoplastic polyester resin film includes the steps of: passing a thermoplastic polyester resin film between a pair of draw rolls to draw/stretch the thermoplastic polyester resin film and obtain a stretched thermoplastic polyester resin film; uniaxially stretching the stretched thermoplastic polyester resin film; coloring the uniaxially-stretched thermoplastic polyester resin film; and heat-setting the colored and stretched thermoplastic polyester resin film. The obtained colored and stretched thermoplastic polyester resin film is excellent in mechanical strength such as elastic modulus and tensile strength, has a low coefficient of linear expansion and is excellent in heat resistance.
