METHOD FOR PRODUCING THERMAL TRANSFER SHEET, THERMAL TRANSFER SHEET AND COMBINATION OF THERMAL TRANSFER SHEET AND THERMAL TRANSFER IMAGE RECEIVING SHEET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a thermal transfer sheet which can allow a clear image to be obtained without causing a burnt spot even when thermally transferred to a thermal transfer image receiving sheet having a water-based dye receptive layer and to provide the thermal transfer sheet and a combination of the thermal transfer sheet and the thermal transfer image receiving sheet.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the thermal transfer sheet by arranging a primer layer and a dye layer in this order on one surface of a base material comprises the steps of: preparing a coating liquid for the primer layer by dispersing a resin having ≥30°C Tg (glass transition temperature) in a dispersion in a dispersed or emulsified state; applying the coating liquid onto the base material; drying the applied coating liquid to form the primer layer; and forming the dye layer on the primer layer.
