<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patterned magnetic recording medium in which fine magnetic dots are formed, a regular grid corresponding to skew angles is formed and arranged by controlling positions of the fine magnetic dots with a bit-size level, and no disorder and no defect of arrangement of a recording material is generated, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: In the patterned magnetic recording medium composed of the magnetic dots, the magnetic dots are arranged in a predetermined arrangement for each track of a data recording region or for each group of a plurality of adjacent tracks where in the arrangement one magnetic dot is placed for each recording bit and three or four magnetic dots adjacent in a track direction form a polygon of which the one edge is parallel to the track direction and another edge is parallel to a direction corresponding to a skew angle of the magnetic recording head. The polygon is a parallelogram of which the pair of two paralleling edges are preferably in parallel to the track direction and the pair of two other edges are preferably in parallel to the direction corresponding to the skew angle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
