PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic probe by which while receiving a sufficient amount of reflected waves from a medical instrument, a sufficient amount of reflected waves are received also from an affected part and ultrasonic images about both the medical instrument and the affected part are obtained with high sensitivity by having wide directionality of an ultrasonic transmission element. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic probe 1 is obtained by forming an instrument insertion hole 4 for inserting the medical instrument A to be used for the treatment of the affected part C in a probe body 3 which transmits ultrasonic waves 10 toward the affected part C to be treated and receives the reflected waves 13. The probe body 3 includes: an instrument detecting unit 6 which transmits ultrasonic waves 12 toward the medical instrument A and receives the reflected waves 16; and an affected part detecting unit 7 which transmits ultrasonic waves 10 toward the affected part C and receives the reflected waves 13.
