PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for reading a voting sheet, capable of improving convenience by making it unnecessary to perform any process for aligning the front and back of the voting sheet in advance. SOLUTION: In the device of reading the voting sheet, opposite rollers 137 and 138 are arranged adjacently to image pickup side edges 135d and 136d so that the voting sheet 2 can be conveyed according to the rotation of the opposite rollers 137 and 138 when the voting sheet 2 enters between image pickup side edges 135d and 136d and outer peripheries 137a and 138a, and wiping members 137b and 138b are butted to the image pickup side edges 135d and 136d so that the image pickup side edges 135d and 136d can be wiped according to the rotation of the opposite rollers 137 and 138 when any voting sheet 2 does not enter between the image pickup side edges 135d and 136d and the outer peripheries 137a and 138a.
