PURPOSE: A refrigerator for a refrigerating vehicle is provided to only transfer the driving force of an engine or an electric motor to a compressor by selectively powering the compressor. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator for a refrigerating vehicle comprises an engine(10), an electric motor(20), a compressor(30), a radiator(40), a condenser(50), a cooling fan(60), a cooling motor(M1), an expansion valve(70), an evaporator(80), a blowing fan(90), and a blowing fan motor(M2). The engine and the electric motor has a coaxial shaft and are alternately powered. The compressor is powered when the engine or the electric motor is powered and compresses refrigerants. The radiator cools the engine. The condenser is arranged on one side of the radiator and condenses the compressed refrigerants. The expansion valve expands the condensed refrigerants. The evaporator evaporates the expanded refrigerants. The blowing fan forcefully sends air to a freezer. The blowing fan motor powers the blowing fan.
