PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device that facilitates reproducing operation of contents via network after contents that are instructed to be reproduced by other devices are completed, and to provide a video display method. SOLUTION: The video display device includes: a receiving means for receiving URI information showing one of one or more contents that are released by a server from other devices; a reproducing means for receiving the contents from the server based on the URI information that is received by the receiving means to reproduce the contents; and a display control means for displaying list information of the contents released by the server after the reproduction of the contents received from the server is completed.
