An automatic modulatable device that forms a high structure at the rear of a motor vehicle or that retracts to behind the front seats. The invention relates to a transport and protection device of structure that can be modulated to: form a structure in which all of the elements are connected to constitute a linkage so that it can be modulated solely by applying pressure, with its high frame damping the forces generated by the energy from the load in the event of a front impact, and that folds vertically and horizontally to behind the front seats to form protection for the cab. This structure is made up of a central support (14) that can oscillate (3) to rest on rear supports (18) that are hinged (4), by unfolding a high frame (10) that bears (23) on itself and on a stationary support (7) on which its slides and oscillates (13).
