PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a general-purpose vice unit capable of surely holding various weighty workpieces of various shapes. SOLUTION: In the general-purpose vice unit, a lot of clamp units 5 to which clamp pins 7 are installed are attached to an attachment 6 to be freely position-changeable, according to the size and shape of a workpiece. A serrated upper engagement groove 5a is formed on the top surface of clamp unit 5 sandwiched by the attachment 6, a serrated lower engagement groove 5b which is orthogonal to the upper engagement groove 5a is formed on the lower surface of clamp unit 5, a serrated downward engagement groove 6a which can engage to the upper engagement groove 5a of clamp unit 5 to be freely position-adjustable is formed on a ceiling surface of attachment 6, and a serrated upward engagement groove 6b which can engage to the lower engagement groove 5b of clamp unit 5 to be freely position-adjustable is formed on the floor surface of attachment 6.
