PURPOSE: An auto-focusing method is provided to continuously trace a moving object even the object leaves an image region. CONSTITUTION: If an auto tracking is activated, information about the auto focusing area is updated after tracking an auto focusing area of the next frame(S20,S40). If a tracking target area does not exist, a user selects an auto focusing area(S30). The selected area is inputted into an auto focusing area control unit. If an input of a user is not detected, auto focusing area information is transmitted to a lens activation control unit(S50,S60).
