HEPATOPROTECTIVE EFFECT OF SEDUM SARMENTOSUM ON ETHANOL INDUCED LIVER DAMAGE

PURPOSE: A Sedum sarmentosum extract with an effect of treating fatty liver induced by ethanol is provided to recover fat metabolism and lipoprotein synthesis. CONSTITUTION: A Sedum sarmentosum extract prevent weight loss due to ethanol. The Sedum sarmentosum extract is isolated using methanol, hexane, ethyl acetate, and butanol. The Sedum sarmentosum extract reduced total cholesterol content by 9-36.6%. The effect of Sedum sarmentosum extract is measured by oral administration of Sedum sarmentosum extract to an object, measuring body weight and extracted liver, observing the liver with a microscope, and isolating serum from the blood.
