The method involves arranging geared pumps (2, 2') e.g. internal toothed wheel pumps, in a pumping housing (9), where the geared pumps include a pump shaft (3) that is rotatably and sealably passes through a separating wall (14). The separating wall is provided between the geared pumps that are pressurized and pressure in the geared pumps is tested. A double toothed wheel pump (1) i.e. double internal toothed wheel pump, and pumping inlet and/or pumping outlet of the geared pumps are closed. Maximum pressure in the geared pumps is compared with a target course.
