The scanner (1) has a time-of-flight camera (6) with a light source (7), and a color camera (8) with another light source (9). The cameras and the light sources are arranged relative to an object by holding devices (2, 4). A processing device is operatively connected with the cameras for calibration of the cameras with a help of calibration mark. The processing device processes object images of the cameras to create a three-dimensional, colored, textured surface model of the object. The color camera comprises a polarizing filter, and the latter light source has another polarizing filter. An independent claim is also included for a method for three dimensional detection of objects.
