The invention relates to a protective element for the heel part and the rear part of a footwear article meant to be used in particular by a motor driver. According to the invention, the element comprises a cup-shaped body (1), having some portions (1a and 1b), namely an upper portion intended to cover completely or partially the rear part of a footwear article and a lower portion intended to cover completely or partially the heel or the rear part of the sole of the footwear article, an upper fastening strap (2) being provided on the upper portion (1a) of the body (1).
