PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely rotate a chronograph hand moving motor at restarting chronographic operation, in a chronograph timepiece electrically driving and mechanically resetting chronograph hands to zero. SOLUTION: When resetting operation is performed by a reset button 19 during time measurement operation, a zero resetting control part 54 drives the chronograph hand moving motor 35 by a spare pulse U having higher drive energy than that of a main drive pulse when the chronograph hands 14 and 15 are regulated by a regulation mechanism in response to the resetting operation, and drives the chronograph hand moving motor 35 by the main drive pulse having polarity different from that of the spare pulse at restarting.
