SMARTCARD FILE SYSTEM AND FILE SELECTION METHOD THEREOF

A smartcard file system and a file selection method thereof are provided. The file system includes a Master File (MF) and various Dedicated Files (DF) and Elementary Files (EF) under the MF file. An Application Root Directory file (ADF) is added under the MF file. The attribute of each of the ADF, DF and EF files of the file system contains an Application Identifier (AID) which is understood as a long file name when accessed by a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP). An external entity accesses the file system through the HTTP protocol, i.e., locates the applications and the files under a Card Web Server (CWS) management through the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) and identifies the long file name of the file through the AID of the file in the URL such that the smartcard file system can support the long file system and the URL file selection mode, and thus the smartcard can more easily support the WEB service and be accepted by users.
