PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for receiving data in a mobile electronic device from a data input device. SOLUTION: The system includes a circuit for detecting data input device connection to a connector which the mobile electronic device includes. The detection is performed by inspection for operation state of a device contained in the mobile electronic device, by an electrical sensing circuit which determines the presence of the data input device, or by a mechanical sensing circuit which determines the presence of the data input device.
